Year 3 Inspire

On Wednesday 26th January, Year 3 invited their parents to join them in a morning of marvellous maths activities. The aim of the morning was to show parents a range of mental maths strategies, play a variety of games to develop these strategies, but most importantly, to show them how much fun maths can be!

A big thank you to all the parents who were able to make the morning. It was great to see grandads and friends of the family too.

During the month of January, Year 3 have looking at features of Instructional texts. We had great fun writing instructions, which we then followed to make a balloon car. We then improved our instructions by adding time connectives and adverbs. Take a look at the photos to see how they worked.

Making Roman Catapults

Class three really enjoyed making Roman catapults, they also enjoyed testing their catapults to see which one could launch some blue-tac the furthest.
